Planning and Assessment

Collaborative and Science-Driven Natural Resource Management

RGR conducts collaborative planning and assessment activities to strategically identify natural resource restoration opportunities in priority watersheds. We promote efficient and cost-effective low-tech process-based restoration (LTPBR) prescriptions to pinpoint critical needs. Our team has led or contributed to various assessments and planning initiatives, including Watershed Restoration Action Plans, Wetland Action Plans, and Land Use Plans. Additional efforts include research on Zuni Bowl and One Rock Dam erosion control structures, as well as a policy study on Nature-Based Solutions.

Planning initiatives share several common objectives: documenting and assessing ecological conditions, identifying and prioritizing restoration strategies and developing comprehensive implementation plans. Other projects focus on analyzing ecological challenges and recommending effective policy solutions.
