Eleni graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in psychology, and her interest in environmental work deepened while working for Patagonia. She moved to Santa Fe in 2019 to pursue a path in conservation, gaining comprehensive experience as the assistant to the executive director of WildEarth Guardians. During this time, Eleni joined Rio Grande Return’s current restoration director and a team of volunteers to a site visit along San Antonio Creek in the Jemez Mountains to install BDAs. She observed process-based-restoration and how successful it can be for the vital habitats she is passionate about.
In August of 2022 Eleni joined the Rio Grande Return team to spearhead the overhaul of their communications and has been thrilled to spread the word about Rio Grande Return’s tremendous impact on restoring the precious waterways and landscapes that make up New Mexico.
